Your member pass now lives in Apple Wallet
CharterPass member passes can now be added to Apple Wallet, so members reach their QR from the lock screen — no app to open, no card to find. Here's how it works and what's next for Android.
A member pass is only useful if it's there the moment you need it — at the door, at the counter, in the queue. Opening an app, waiting for it to load, tapping through to the QR: that's three steps too many when a volunteer is waving you forward. So we removed them.
CharterPass member passes now live in Apple Wallet.
What changes for members
Add your pass once, and it sits alongside your boarding passes and store cards. When you need it, a double-press of the side button brings up Wallet and your pass is right there — QR ready, no app, no unlock-and-hunt.
The pass shows the essentials on its face: your name, your organization, your membership status and role. The QR on it is the same personal code your organization already scans, so it works everywhere a CharterPass scan works — event check-in, perks, stamp cards and points.
Because it's a real Wallet pass, it updates itself. When your committee renews your membership or changes your role, the pass in your Wallet reflects it — you don't re-download anything.
What organizers need to do
Nothing. Every approved member can add their pass from their member area; there's no setup on the organization side and no per-pass cost to you. If your members are on iPhone, they can start using Wallet today.
And Android?
The Google Wallet version is built and waiting on issuer approval from Google — a paperwork step on our side, not a code one. When it clears, Android members get the same one-press pass. Until then, the in-app pass works exactly as it always has on every phone, so no member is left without a way in.
The point of all this
We've said from the start that the phone your members already carry should replace the plastic card, the sign-in sheet and the committee spreadsheet. Wallet is that idea taken to its natural end: the pass isn't in an app you have to remember to open — it's just there, the way a member card in your wallet used to be, minus the wallet.
