Coupons, birthdays and win-backs — automated for merchants

CharterPass merchants can now run targeted coupon campaigns and set birthday and win-back messages that send themselves. A practical guide to bringing customers back without watching a dashboard all day.

Loyalty tools are good at rewarding the customers already standing in front of you. The harder problem is the ones who aren't: the regular who hasn't been in for six weeks, the customer whose birthday is Thursday, the quiet Tuesday you'd like to fill. CharterPass merchants now have tools aimed squarely at that problem — and most of them run on their own.

Coupon campaigns you can aim

A coupon is more useful when it reaches the right people. When you create a campaign, you choose the audience rather than blasting everyone:

  • Everyone on your list, for a broad push.
  • Lapsed customers who haven't visited in a while — the ones a nudge actually moves.
  • Your best customers, if you want to reward frequency rather than chase absence.

Each coupon carries its own QR (a cpn: code). The customer shows it, your staff scan it at the counter with the same scanner they already use for stamps and points, and it's redeemed once — no screenshots forwarded around a group chat, no coupon used five times.

Automations that send themselves

Two campaigns are worth setting once and forgetting:

Birthdays. Set a birthday offer and CharterPass sends it to each customer around their birthday, automatically. It's the highest-goodwill message a shop can send, and it's the one every busy owner forgets. Now you don't.

Win-backs. Define what "lapsed" means for your business — a customer who hasn't been in for, say, 30 or 60 days — and an offer to bring them back. CharterPass watches for customers crossing that line and sends the offer without you checking a dashboard. A quiet win-back running in the background is often worth more than a loud promotion you have to remember to launch.

Both run on a schedule on our side, so they keep working on the days you're too busy to think about marketing — which are exactly the days they matter.

Seeing who's who

Behind the campaigns sits a per-customer view. Open a customer and you see their history with you — visits, stamps, points, redemptions — in one place, so a coupon isn't a shot in the dark. Your whole customer list stays searchable and exportable as CSV, so the data is yours.

Getting started

The promotion tools live in the CharterPass merchant area, next to your stamp cards and points programmes. Set your birthday and win-back offers first — they're the ones that pay you back while you sleep — then run coupon campaigns when you want a push.
